Director of Human Resources

Habitat Charlotte is currently seeking a talented professional to fill the role of Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the VP: Finance & Admin, and overseeing 120 employees, the HR Director operates as part of the extended leadership team. This position is responsible for ensuring the organization has the talent and enabling processes required to execute the vision and mission of Habitat Charlotte and achieve desired results. The HR Director is a steward of the organizations values and culture, maintaining a positive work environment and enabling employees and managers to operate in a productive manner. The HR Director partners with managers to enable employee development and performance coaching and serves as a liaison to the Senior Staff, Board Personnel and Investment Committees.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for Habitat’s mission; possess at least five (5) years of experience as an HR generalist and at least three (3) years of experience in a leadership/managerial role; proven ability to drive organizational culture forward; enthusiasm for teamwork, resourcefulness, accuracy, initiative and critical thinking; strong written and verbal communication skills; and a college degree.

Donations Drop-Off Coordinator (University ReStore)

Habitat Charlotte’s University ReStore is seeking an energetic individual with excellent customer-service skills to assist our customers and donors. This position will be responsible for loading and unloading merchandise and donations, moving merchandise to and from the sales floor, informing customers of what we can accept as donations; while representing Habitat in a positive manner to all donors, customers and others you come in contact. The ideal candidate will have a background in warehousing including inventory management, and must have strong customer service and communication skills.

• Part-time; three 8-hour shifts per week that rotate Monday –Saturday, as scheduled by the Manager

AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader

Habitat Charlotte’s AmeriCorps members learn, grow and connect with lifelong friends in a vibrant and growing city while helping impact families and communities throughout Charlotte. AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leaders work with a staff Site Supervisor and one other person as a team to lead new home construction and/or Critical Home Repair projects. These projects range in size and scope, are physically demanding, and require applicants to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. AmeriCorps members work with volunteer groups and homeowners, and act as a positive voice for Habitat Charlotte on the jobsite and at other Habitat Charlotte functions.

Habitat Charlotte is seeking 16 Construction Crew Leaders for a term from August 2018 through July 2019. Preferred qualifications are:

• Desire to serve our community and an understanding of service oriented work
• Past history of service or related experience with Habitat for Humanity or other non-profits
• Leadership experience
