Volunteering: BEYOND construction
Overview
Before the first hammer strikes a nail or the first wall is raised on a Habitat home, many hours of work by dedicated volunteers has already been done. Fill out and return an Individual Volunteer Application to begin assisting in these key areas:
Fundraising 
Church Relations Committee: Works to include churches and faith groups in Habitat for Humanity ministry.
Weekday Office Support: Either on-going or as needed to help with filing, research, envelope stuffing, etc.
Special Event Staffing: Helps with one-day projects such as golf tournaments, fundraisers or mission fairs.
Family Services
Family Recruitment Assistance: Volunteers to help educate the public about the opportunities for homeownership. Best suited for someone who wishes to work independently doing marketing, research, or information distribution
Homeowner Orientation Assistance: Assist families as they learn about Habitat homeownership. Orientations are held the 3rd Saturday morning or 1st Tuesday evening of each month. We ask that you commit to at least one session per quarter.
Homeowner Interviewer: Meet with families one-on-one to determine if they will be a good fit for Habitat homeownership. Interviews are held the 3rd Saturday of each month and we ask that you commit to at least one Saturday per quarter.
Family Selection Committee: Make monthly home visits with potential families. Required monthly meetings (evening, 2nd Tuesday.)
Week Day Volunteer/Intern: Help with various office tasks.
Tech Mentor: Computers are a much needed resource for new Habitat homeowners. Help a homeowner set up their computer and answer basic questions. This is a one-time or on-going opportunity with training provided, 10 hour minimum commitment.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Habitat ReStore: Habitat operates a store at 3326 Wilkinson Boulevard and a store at 1133 N. Wendover Road. Volunteers are needed for customer assistance, repair and prepare, and other miscellaneous tasks. Youth Participation: A Building on Youth program is available to young people ages 5 to 15.
El Salvador Work Camps : A group from Charlotte heads out three times year to help build homes. Participants pay their own way usually around $1100-$1200.
Real Estate Attorney: Volunteer attorneys can help prepare titles for both the purchase of land by Habitat and the sale of the house to Habitat Charlotte homeowners.
Musicians: Sing or play an instrument at one of our home dedications.
