Habitat Charlotte Women Build

Women Build 09 Charlotte logoWHAT IS WOMEN BUILD?

Women Build is an annual program in which an all-women crew of volunteers construct an entire Habitat home. The nation’s first all-women house was built by Habitat Charlotte in 1991 and this year's project marks our 12th Women Build home. The Women Build project empowers women to participate in Habitat for Humanity’s work by teaching new skills in a non-competitive, inclusive environment of cooperation, partnership and fun.

ABOUT WOMEN BUILD 2009

Women Build 2009 will kickoff on Saturday, May 9th at 619 Pennsylvania Avenue and will benefit Latoria Grant and her son, who you can read more about here. We're actively seeking sponsors to fund the Women Build home. Sponsorship levels can be found here.

For more information about Women Build sponsorships, contact Linda Blum at 704.716.7073 or lblum@habitatcharlotte.org

VOLUNTEERING FOR WOMEN BUILD 2009

Women Build is always an exciting time and we have been blessed with amazing volunteers who have given not only their time, but a donation towards the WB home. It's the combination of volunteers and their donations that enable us to build this home each year - and both pieces of the puzzle are equally important.

In years past, we've asked our individual WB volunteers to donate in order for us to schedule their day of service. This year we're asking individuals to dWomen Build logoonate and/or fundraise a minimum of $100. With the resources we'll provide and the ability to build your own online fundraising page, fundraising will be a lot of fun and much easier than you think! We're hoping this opportunity gives you a better understanding of our mission as well as a stronger connection to the Women Build project.

As we said, we're asking for a minimum of $100, but you're welcome to set your goal even higher! Building a page is a wonderful opportunity to spread the word to friends and family about the housing crisis facing so many women and children in our community. More details can be found below.
