Home Builders Blitz

The Home Builders Blitz is a partnership between Habitat affiliates nationwide and professionals in the building industry to construct homes for low-income families across America. We kicked off 2008's weeklong project on Saturday, May 31st. During the week, local builders M/I Homes, KB Homes, Edifice, Inc., Standard Pacific Homes, and Portrait Homes constructed five new houses for Habitat families in Charlotte and proudly handed off the keys during the Builder's Blitz Luncheon held on Friday, June 6th.

The Habitat Charlotte Home Builders Blitz has received special support from the Home Builders Association of Charlotte. Without the HBAC’s support, many of the participating builders may have been unaware of this new initiative. Builders are encouraged to be on site for the 5 days of the build and, in the most exciting part of the project, work closely with the homeowner families and involve them in the construction. Builders pay their contractors or suppliers, or obtain their services as a donation, enabling Habitat to offer a family a new home at no cost to the affiliate. Habitat for Humanity is proud to have the support, talent and generosity of Charlotte’s leading home building professionals.
