Building on Faith Information for Sponsor Groups

Group Devotions each morning at 8am
between September 27th - October 4th

Where is the project going to be located?  We are currently planning to build 20 new homes and 5 Major Home Repairs.  The new homes will be in Wingate and Reid Park.  The Major Home Repair Projects which will also be in or near these neigborhoods.  The neighborhoods are off of West Boulevard, between downtown and the airport. 

Build Schedule?  If you haven't already done so please confirm your build schedules with Beth Van Gorp at 704-716-7077 or bvangorp@habitatcharlotte.org

House Leader & Project Leader Meetings? Please plan to attend either of these meetings to ensure that we're all on the same page for the project.
Wednesday, August 20th, 7:30am, Habitat Office
Saturday, August 16th, 9am, Habitat Office

What about parking? Once we have the lot assignments complete, we will pass along the information about parking.    The parking will either be on street parking or parking in a nearby vacant lot.   When you receive the information please pass along these to your volunteers so that we can keep the areas in front of the homes free for deliveries, sub-contractors and emergency vehicles.   Most days the House Leaders will be able to park in front of the home (on the days sub-contractors are working you will probably be asked to move your vehicle.)  Those delivering meals can also drop off food. 

When will the lot and homeowner pairings be announced? 
We will update the Assignments and Park Page once we have the lot and family pairings. 

Lunches?  Habitat is providing lunch on Saturday, September 27th and Saturday, October 4th.  Please let Beth know if you wish to provide your own lunches on those days.

Adopt-A-Home Planning Manual?  Our Adopt-A-Home Planning manual will help your group planning your project.  Click here for a version in microsoft word. 

Construction Manual?  We have a detailed construction manual to give each sponsor which we plan to hand out at the House and Project Leader meetings.    Please contact Beth to receive information about receiving chapters electronically for leaders to utilize.

T-shirts? At this point we aren't planning to have a special build t-shirts.  If you would like to print your own shirts please contact Beth if you need a copy of our logo and the usage guidelines.  If your group would like to design and print a shirt, we have gotten great rates from Kurt Rawald at Gaston Screen Printing at 704-399-0459.

In Kind items including Licsensed Electricians,Plumbers,HVAC contractors, and Drywall Finishers. Use our inkind form to let our Construction Superintendent know about what and who you have solicited.  We will utilize this information to schedule the donation being utilized.  Please get this information in as soon as possible to best insure that the materials or contractor will be able to work on your home.    Please contact Chip Sabathneat csabathne@habitatcharlotte.org or 704-716-7076 with questions.
