3rd Annual Murphy's Dirty 30 Mud Volleyball Tournament

On Sunday June 14th, young and old alike got down and dirty for the 3rd Annual 'Murphy's Dirty 30' Mud Volleyball Tournament! There were 50 teams and over 300 people in attendance at the Metrolina Tradeshow Expo giving everyone plenty of room for a day of wild and muddy fun!

We had five huge mud pits perfect for sloshing around in and from the smiles on everyone's faces, we'd say it was an unforgettable day of fun!

After the mud, it's the After-Party

The good ol' folks at Thomas Street Tavern welcomed players back for the third year in a row for a post-mud-slinging throw down. They offered FREE Sweet Water 420 beer to the muddy masses and we can't thank them enough!

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

Hosted by the Habitat Young Professionals...The annual mud volleyball tournament is hosted by the Habitat Young Professionals of Charlotte (HYPC). The HYPC is a group of dedicated and motivated individuals looking to spend time contributing to the Charlotte community. HYPC members are making a positive impact on our city's families-in-need and want you to join them in helping to eliminate sub-standard housing in Charlotte!

  WHO THE HECK IS 'MURPHY?'


'Murphy's Dirty 30 Mud Volleyball Tournament' was the idea of Tim Murphy (Habitat ReStore) and a few of his friends. In 2007, with his 30th birthday looming, Murphy and his buddies brainstormed ways to celebrate the landmark day. The group decided his "Dirty 30th" birthday party would be even better if they could raise money for Habitat Charlotte at the same time. What better way to celebrate your "Dirty 30" than in a pit full of mud raising funds with your best friends? So, here's the equation: (Murphy's birthday) + (mud, music, food & friends) = Murphy's Dirty 30 Mud Volleyball Tournament! Great fun for a great cause!
