Help us bring hope to future generations
.
Support of Habitat Charlotte comes in many forms. Please consider one of the available gift options to help future generations secure safe and affordable housing.

Habitat Charlotte Legacy Society
The Legacy Society was founded to recognize individuals who make gift plans to benefit Habitat Charlotte’s housing ministry beyond their lifetime. Individuals who notify us of their plans in 2012 will be considered charter members of the Legacy Society.

There are many types of planned gifts that qualify for Legacy Society membership including:

Gifts you can make todaycouple_paperwork
  • Donor-advised funds
  • Donate to our Endowment Fund contributing cash, securities or other assets to the Habitat Charlotte Endowment Fund

Gifts that benefit Habitat after your lifetime
  • Bequest in a Will or Living Trust designating “Habitat Charlotte” for:
    • a specified amount
    • a percentage of your estate
    • a residual bequest or “what’s left” after providing for loved ones
  • Beneficiary designations (i.e. life insurance, retirement plans)
  • Charitable Trust income beneficiary or remainder beneficiary
The most common legacy gifts are given through wills. Following is the legal bequest language for Habitat Charlotte:

"I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."

Please talk with your financial advisor, attorney, or accountant to consider the best option for you.
