Habitat Young Professionals of Charlotte (HYPC) is an exciting initiative within Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte. The members of HYPC actively engage in efforts to diminish poverty housing in the Charlotte area. HYPC is an outlet for young professionals in their early 20s through early 40s to experience community involvement and leadership at its best!

Membership:

Membership offers you the opportunity to gain and improve leadership skills while networking with other young professionals at social events and on the construction site. Interested individuals can join the HYPC in their efforts to diminish substandard housing by volunteering their time and/or making donations. Please click on the link below to join this exciting endeavor!

*We encourage everyone who is interested in joining the group to combine volunteering on the construction sites with donation and advocacy. Past events:

The 2nd Annual Murphy's Dirty 30 Mud Volleyball Tournament was hosted by HYPC on Sunday, May 18, 2008. The event was fantastic! You can find the recap and photos here!

On August 15th, the HYPC held a social @ the BlackFinn Restaurant & Saloon. There were delicious appetizers and great drink specials.

On Saturday November 8th, the HYPC hosted 'Soiree @ Suite.' Free drinks from Suite and appetizers from Brixx at Blakeney and Trader Joe's were provided.

Informal HYPC Info breakfast was held on Saturday Nov. 15th, from 9-11 a.m. Habitat staff and HYPC Committee members were on hand to answer everyone's questions and talk about the opportunities available with the HYPC.

Saturday Dec. 6th, from 12-4 p.m. Habitat Charlotte partnered with ImaginOn for 'Home Sweet Homes,' our 2nd annual gingerbread house competition.

Happy Hour @ Chima Brazilian Steakhouse on February 10th, '09 was a great success! We gave away floor seats to the next evenings' Bobcats game and there were yummy appetizers and great drink specials. There was a great turnout and the beautiful ambiance set the stage for a memorable
get-together.

Wine Tasting at Dolce Vita, was held on Thurs. April 16, 7-9 p.m.
